A New X-Men Origins: Wolverine Trailer...

I don't know if it is the same trailer from San Diego Comic-Con, but now the X-Men Origins: Wolverine Trailer is now available for viewing everywhere and hopefully it will be awesome taking away the stain that was X-Men III: The Last Stand. Hugh Jackman returns as Wolverine in this origin story, the Weapon X project, and so on. His rival Sabretooth is in this movie plus other mutants like fan favorite Gambit finally in a X-Men movie. It is expected to show up in theaters on May 1st, 2009 and likely lead the summer blockbuster season.

Perhaps the sickest thing done in Rock Band 2 so far...

Last weekend, four of the best Rock Band players joined forces to unleash a 100% full band FC unlike no other, which is "Snow" by the Red Hot Chili Peppers. If u know this song in Rock Band, it is notoriously hard on guitar (I can't even pass this song on Expert and eventually deleted it). Full band FCs are pretty crazy, but this one is just on another level. Check out their videos if you want to see more full band FCs especially the vocalist Vixenita's videos since she is the "Queen of Vocals."

Off-topic 360 is crapping up again news/rant:

Ever since I got my Halo 360 back from repairs, a new problem rose with my console not reading discs anymore. I think it is the console itself (maybe even the disc tray) rather than the discs themselves since it takes a few tries to get it somewhat working. This is the case when I play Gears 2, Banjo, NBA 2K9, and rarely Rock Band 2 ("Hello There" Intro skips). At this point it is getting frustrating that I feel giving up on Microsoft's beloved system to head to the light side (aka Sony's Playstation 3 despite their lack of sales this holiday season). I was excited to play Gears 2 because of the new maps that came out today, but the disc read errors is getting me angry to a certain point. I guess I'm sticking to my downloadable games for now (Meteos Wars - review of that later today, and SSFIIT HD Remix).

The Trailers shown at the Spike VGAs...

The Spike TV Video Game Awards are going on now here at the West Coast and while the awards aspect is laughable in terms of who won, the major attraction is the exclusive trailers of some of the hottest games for the next year. One of the big trailers being shown is another teaser for God of War III (above) and it looks good for being a tease of more Kratos ownage. Other big trailers are below.



Grand Theft Auto IV: The Lost and Damned is the first major DLC for Rockstar's fourth entry in the GTA franchise. While it is more GTA IV than just Niko starring this bike gang, it is coming out on February 17, the same day as Street Fighter IV, and it is likely taking a pass for a while. Exclusively on Xbox Live, I think this new storyline is a good enough reason to return to Liberty City one more time despite GTA IV being somewhat overrated (more on that soon in a later blog post).



Uncharted 2: Among Thieves is next up and it looks as good as the first game in which now Nathan Drake is transversing through snow and if you want to read more on what's new, check out the new Game Informer issue with this game on the cover. In this trailer above, looks like Drake is in a bad spot inside a falling bus.



Finally, Brutal Legend still lives!!! The next game by Double Fine (The folks that brought you Grim Fandango and Psychonauts) now has a publisher, which is EA as expected. Considering Double Fine's pedigree, this game is going to be good no matter what.

The latest Final Fantasy XIII Trailers now available for U.S. viewing...

These trailers for Final Fantasy XIII (above) and Versus XIII (below) have been seen before over at Japan because of a Square-Enix event that happened during earlier this summer, but now they're available for viewing online everywhere else. Yes, the CG still looks amazing for both games (keep in mind Versus XIII is made by the Kingdom Hearts team), but still no new gameplay is being shown yet. Plus, most of us still don't know what the hell is going on story-wise and how these two games are related within the same setting and universe. The FFXIII Demo is expected to come out sometime in Spring 2009 within the Blu-Ray edition of FFVIII: Advent Children over at Japan (at least PS3 is somewhat region-free for U.S. people to mess with). As for these games themselves, there is still no clear release date for either of them. Based on speculation, the earliest FFXIII would be released is around Fall 2009 and Versus XIII sometime in 2010.

Final Fantasy Dissidia is out next week at Japan...

Final Fantasy Dissidia, the fighter/RPG mash-up of Final Fantasy characters, comes out for the PSP next week at Japan. This is definitely not your typical Final Fantasy game as pretty much every significant character from this legendary franchise is in the game in some way or another. Here's a Cloud / Sephiroth battle as an example of the fast and frantic fighting that Dissidia has with the infamous "One Winged Angel" song playing in the background. Also, it seems that signature moves are there in some capacity. Supposedly, the story mode takes 40 hours to beat on average, but those who want 100% completion can exceed 100 hours. As for a U.S. release of Dissidia, it is likely sometime next year (look how long Crisis Core came out between JP and US versions), but those who are willing to play it next week can since the PSP is region free.

A New Trailer for Terminator Salvation...

Here's a better trailer for a better movie compared to Dragonball, which is Terminator Salvation starring Christian Bale (Batman from The Dark Knight) as John Connor. Expect this movie to be one of many big summer blockbusters next year in theaters.

The 1st Dragonball Evolution Trailer is out...

Finally, an official trailer for the Dragonball live-action movie, now sub-titled Evolution (still a bad title), is now out with the movie releasing in March 13, 2009.

And yes, this movie still sucks...
