Can't Smile Without You..... Hellboy II Thoughts (spoilers ahead)

I just came back from watching Hellboy II: The Golden Army and it is better than the first movie in nearly every way. It definitely had some cool moments and some cheesy ones too, but Del Toro pulled it off again delivering on the visual aspect of the world that the movie sets in and the different characters / creatures in it. Ron Pearlman is truly Hellboy and does a fantastic job as him with his personality and whatnot. The supporting cast on the other hand, however, not so much with Liz being the generic love interest again with some cheesy lines and Ape falling for a different love interest was also cheesy. The ghost dude reminded me of that a similar character from that Nintendo game, Geist. I am a fan of the villain, Prince Nuada, and good thing he does cool fighting stunts. The plot of the whole movie did seem predictable knowing what to expect next of the prince killing his father to gain more power and control of the Golden Army, his sister disagreeing with his motives and falling for Ape, and how the Nuadas died in the end. Other than the great action scenes involving Hellboy with Winx, the Plant God thing, and Prince Nuada, this movie is not that bad and better than most summer movies that came out this year. The title reference is from the song of the same name as it was played twice in the movie with Hellboy and Ape's love angles, which them drinking together was a fun scene. Good thing it is #1 on the Box Office this weekend barely beating Hancock (Hellboy II did 35 million). Unfortunately, it is all about Batman next weekend with The Dark Knight and I'm expected to be blown away from the get go.

ABDC Season 2 Episode 4 Recap

A little late on this week's episode and basically I wasn't really a fan of the challenge provided, but some crews prevailed while some didn't.

Boogie Bots were first and after last week's performance, I expected to be blown away again, but came away disappointed this week. It wasn't really memorable from the slow and fast sections, plus they messed up a couple of times too. I expect them to bottom 2 next week.



My boys, SuperCrew, were next and it was a good performance, but probably their worst of the show so far. It is clear that it is hard to stay original and I think it wasn't their night. I have a feeling they could be in the danger zone next week.



A.S.I.I.D. delivered the first great performance of the night having both slow and fast sections nailed perfectly. I thought they are going to be bottom 2 this week after their disappointing performance last week, but I guess they had enough votes.



So Real Cru were next and just like SuperCrew and Boogie Bots, they had a tough time pleasing the judges with the fast sections while their slow section (their speciality) is still good. It is a toss up for me if they are bottom 2 next week.



Fanny Pak had the best performance of the night and they deserved it because it was awesome. They had excellent slow and fast sections along with the concept being insane, but still cool. They definitely climbed up my rankings to me, but I hope they don't screwed on votes next week.



Phresh Select and Supreme Soul (surprisingly) were in the bottom 2 this week. Phresh's performance is another one that didn't seem memorable compared to their previous routines.



Supreme Soul knew it was do or die for them and they delivered the second best performance of the night with "Party Like a Rock Star." I feel like buying that Know Your Rank shirt despite being 30 bucks plus shipping and whatnot (also considering a Jabba shirt too).

With Phresh Select's elimination, my rankings went through some switcheroo effect.

2. Supreme Soul
3. A.S.I.I.D.
4. SuperCrew
5. So Real Cru
6. Boogie Bots

If this hold up, expect Boogie Bots to be bottom 2 along with So Real or SuperCrew (still my #1 pick). Then again, I have a feeling that Fanny Pak, Supreme Soul, or A.S.I.I.D. will get screwed of votes next week to be one of the bottom 2 teams. Next week should be better with everyone doing Janet Jackson songs (last season was Michael).

Pre-E3 GameTrailers TV

This week's GameTrailers TV has some of the big boys for E3 next week.



I'll start off with a clip of Rock Band 2 featuring Foo Fighters' "Everlong" and first gameplay which is the same looking game, but a little better (Good luck on Expert Drums).



A teaser for Fallout 3 is also in this episode, which is not much, but expect more next week for Bethesda's next game (They did the Elder Scrolls games).



BioWare's next game (Mass Effect folks, KOTOR) is Dragon Age, currently slated for the PC. It looks like they are going back to medieval-like fantasy worlds unlike sci-fi craziness that Mass Effect had. Hopefully it lives up to the BioWare pedigree.

The episode focuses on Gears 2 and expect SpikeTV to do some E3 shows throughout next week.

First official footage of Mega Man 9!!

IGN exclusively has the trailer for Mega Man 9 coming to WiiWare, Playstation Network, and Xbox Live Arcade hopefully later this year. As mentioned before, this goes back to the 8-bit Mega Man days: graphics, gameplay, and sound. This is perhaps the ultimate nostalgia trip for hardcore fans of the series and it is finally becoming reality. It has been a back and forth story with Capcom dodging questions like only WiiWare and where's the PSN and XBLA versions? This trailer recofirms those two versions along with WiiWare and now everyone is happy.

Another Botchmania.....

Botchmania 47 is out and it is mostly old stuff, but still awesome.

More Trailers featuring The Force Unleased & Mirror's Edge

The newest trailer for Star Wars: The Force Unleashed is out and maybe LucasArts revealed a little more than we wanted to regarding the Secret Apprentice's story. This game is out on September 16 for the major consoles.



Mirror's Edge is expected to be one of the big games shown at E3 next week and this new clip focuses on the storyline of what drives the main character to do what she does.

A Trailer for the Max Payne Movie

Here's the first trailer for the Max Payne movie, another one based on a video game. This one stars Mark Walhberg, aka Marky Mark, as he plays Max Payne. So far, it seems faithful to the first game being dark and gritty along with the bullet time action. Hopefully, it turns out to be another decent game to movie flick.
